TIP: Check out FAQs for instructors for additional frequently asked questions about class and user management.
Depending on the settings of the Möbius component, the following question types may automatically assign partial grades:
- Clickable image question
- HTML question, depending on the custom grading code
- List question
- Maple-graded question, depending on the custom grading code
- Matching question
- Math App question, depending on the custom grading code
- Multiple choice question, when Selection is set to Multiple
- Numeric question, depending on the accuracy or tolerance options
- Sketch question, only if the correct answer consists of multiple curves
- Sorting question
TIP: Check out View available question types for details and examples of different question types in Möbius.
TIP: Manual grading can assign partial grades to any student. Instructors can check out Access the Activity Grading View for details on viewing and changing grades for a Möbius activity.
When it comes to authoring algorithmic content in Möbius, the accepted algorithmic syntax uses a language that's unique to Möbius (though it's loosely based on Java).
TIP: Check out the Follow Algorithm Editor syntax rules help topic for more help on the accepted syntax during algorithm authoring that's unique to Möbius. You can also view the Use proper math syntax during question authoring help topic for additional details on how to define your correct answer with proper syntax.
In addition, whenever Maple calls are used within algorithms, Maple syntax is required.
In other parts of Möbius, you can also use these other languages:
- HTML
- CSS
- Javascript
- LaTeX
- MathML
TIP: Check out the Enter MathML or LaTeX section of the Work with the Equation Editor (instructor) help topic for more details on using these languages in Möbius.
Check out View available functions for algorithmic questions to learn about the built-in functions within Möbius that you can use to author algorithmic questions.
You can use the Algorithm Designer to author a question algorithm without needing to directly use algorithmic syntax.
Check out Create question algorithms using the Algorithm Designer.
You can import a Content Template into your activity to help you with:
- Maple grading code
- Writing question algorithms
- Incorporating interactive content
Content Template — A collection of pre-authored content designed to help instructors and authors build new content from scratch and take advantage of the key capabilities of Möbius.
Check out Import a Content Template.
TIP: You can also import pre-built Content Packs to support you in your content authoring.
Content Pack — High-quality full course content that provides you with pre-authored lessons, assignments, and Policy Sets that are ready to deploy to your students.
Check out Import a Content Pack.
You can enter symbolic math expressions using LaTeX during question authoring.
Check out Work with LaTeX.
