Abstract:

Moving from rudimentary skills assessment to authentic assessment is essential when determining a student’s higher-order skills. For STEM subjects, educators need a platform to handle questions beyond multiple choice and matching.

In this session, first presented at Mathfest 2021, Louise Krmpotic, Vice President of Educational Enterprise, explains the importance of authentic assessment, methods in which we can authentically assess student knowledge, and show examples of how the Möbius platform enables instructors to access more of Bloom’s Taxonomy, including analysis and creation.
